Call to Action! - NAILTA Opposes HR 4323 the Consumer Mortgage Choice Act

There are serious efforts underway in Washington DC to give controlled business arrangements a "leg up" on your business. The House Financial Services Committee (HFSC) in Washington DC is considering a bill known as HR 4323, the Consumer Mortgage Choice Act (click here) which would exempt affiliated businesses from the definition of "points and fees" under Dodd-Frank's qualified mortgage definition. In this way, the bill aims to incentivize the use of affiliated businesses to the detriment of independent title agents. OAITA 2012 Public Policy Initiative Teleconference - 2/15

Later this Spring, members of OAITA will be meeting with members of Ohio’s General Assembly to discuss our “wish list” of legislative priorities in the current session.  In order to properly put forward the full assortment of member-related interests, we want to hold a member-only teleconference on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10am to discuss these issues in greater detail.

If you want to have an active role in the direction of policy for 2012, now is your chance to do so.  Please fill out your membership application and send in your membership dues and join us on the teleconference on February 15th at 10am.  Tell us what you would like to see done and help us make it so.
