Ohio Supreme Court Orders Mediation in Mandamus Action November 13, 2008 Today, the Ohio Supreme Court entered a decision in the mandamus action filed against the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) which refers the pending case to mediation. Rather than ruling on the pending motion to dismiss filed by the ODI, the Court has exercised its authority to transfer the case to mediation where representatives from the ODI and the OAITA will have a chance to arrive at a resolution of the issues before the Court. A copy of the online docket is available here. The Court's decision is a huge victory for independent title agents across Ohio who for many years have had no real audience with the ODI. Today's ruling is a giant leap forward for each of you. After many years, you will finally have your day. |
